Sean's Dad came for a visit to help us celebrate Emily's Birthday. We had a great time seeing him and I know Em can't wait till he comes back for another visit soon! Also- the wagon was Em's Birthday present from Mommy and Daddy- she was not too sure about it at first now she loves it!

So the first week after I was home- Miss Em decided to go and get all sick on me. I mean sick. fever, matted eyes shut, running nose, cough. We were off to see Dr Miller and get our girl well. this is the week from pre sick to getting better...

So after settling in to not going to work and daycare everyday...Emily and I are starting to get into a routine (kind of). We've both been sick UGH! and keep passing it back and forth- and Mama can't take anything for it DOUBLE UGH! But we've had fun together and here are some pics of our first month together at home.

and.....we're baaaack (plus Emily's long overdue 11month post)

So all of you know by now what a crazy month or so it's been for our family. I got laid off at the end of March and well- for a couple of weeks, I just didn't feel like blogging. Still taking TONS of pictures of our sweet Emily Claire but blogging- Mama really fell down on the job. So now, a month later!!!  I'm back. I'm going to start with a sorry to the Grandparents and loved ones who love seeing Em as she grows. I promise now that I am back on track, I will be blogging away again!!  So without further ado- Emily's 11 month post and the month of April-

Emily Claire turned 11 months on March 29th. If I can remember a month ago--- HA!  (good luck)

• Emily is 19 pounds, apprx 29 inches long
• she can "help" you getting out of her car seat/high chair/clothes and now likes to sit up to be dressed for the most part
• STILL hates having her clothes/diapers changed
• wears a 6/12 month shoe or size 3
• 12 month clothing for the most part- smocked clothes are still hit or miss
• she is crawling all over the place, quickly. we have to be on our toes
• she points a lot at things now
• she is SUPER ticklish
• she knows who Mama/Daddy/Lily are and ball and light are our favorite objects to point to.

our whirlwind wild weekend

I am exhausted just thinking about our weekend! Uncle John, Aunt Christena, and Camille came for a visit and we packed about as much as one can pack into a weekend into ours. 

We started our Friday night by meeting them at the Rendezvous for dinner- a first for Miss Emily. Saturday morning we got up and did our usual weekend morning routine. I met Christena for some quick shopping and then we met everyone for lunch at one of our favorite spots, Huey's. Emily had her first whipped cream when she and Camille shared a dessert. After lunch we hit the Children's museum- another first for us! It is a little "big" for Emily right now, but we had fun. We followed Camille around and then we "fished" and played in the 4 and under area. Emily had a good time playing with Camille and this other little boy about her age. We got a quick nap in and then met the entire family for dinner at the Grove Grill. My Aunt, Uncle, other cousin, her son, and my mom all came to dinner. Emily got to bed waaaay past her bedtime but she conked out pretty easily.

Sunday morning we met Camille at the hotel for our first swimming adventure. I jumped at the chance to get Em into a pool to see if she would like it as much as the bathtub. It was a HUGE success!  it took her a few minutes to kind of take in our surroundings and the difference in temp of the water....but she LOVED IT!  After swimming, we went to the zoo! (I mean crazy busy right?)!  FOUR hours of the zoo! - from one end to the other we looked and pointed out the animals to the girls. Camille road the carousel.  We saw the dinosaurs- Em got a little freaked/scared by one of them so I turned her quickly away from it. Fit averted by some soothing from mama and a sippy cup! we are ALL about our sippy cup now. Seriously, I dont' know what clicked but in a week, she's gone from not wanting to really hold it much to being all about it.  YAY! After our zoo adventure, we capped off the weekend with a "linner" at Newks- another of our favor tie spots! It was an insanely busy weekend that I seriously needed to recoup from by the end of it- but so fun and worth it!!

Camille was so sweet and good with her all weekend. She wanted to hold her hand and show her how to swim and float. She worried about her when she was eating and coughing a bit (Emily is all about waaay too much food in her mouth at one time) UGH! We don't get to get these two girls together enough and it was such a treat!  (Even if we need to rest afterwards)!
