memphis in may bbq festival

Sean and I have been on a Memphis in May BBQ team for the last 6 years. We don't really do a whole lot but go down to the river, eat, drink and be merry- and maybe help a little on judging day. But we enjoy our friends and the spectacle that is BBQ fest.  This year we took our Emily to the river for the first time and I have to say she did GREAT! She lasted about 4 hours before we decided we better pack it in and head for home. And FYI - a shout out to our super cook Tony Daughtry and MC for the day brother Scott- our team placed 12th in Ribs (that's out of 140+ teams). GO SMOKIN ON THE RIVER!

Lang's Birthday

Sweet Lanford Whitaker turned 1 a few weeks before Emily- but he was sick on his Birthday and his party go postponed until Mother's Day weekend. I took Em- she likes a good party!  There were other kids to play with, a cool bus to "drive" and CAKE- yum! Happy Birthday Langy Poo!

Happy Derby Day Y'all

So It's May- which means the Kentucky Derby- ok, so we don't go, but we watch and wear hats! I hope to be able to get Em to wear a fun Derby hat EVERY year. She wears them so well :)

more birthday fun!

I took Emily to daycare to visit for her Birthday- to see Ms Janice and her friends. She got to eat her first cupcake from Muddy's. She enjoyed it - a little too much...she would not let go of it to let me help her eat it. The results are humorous to say the least.
Gammy and Poppy gave her a cool pink car for her Birthday- we take a ride in it almost every day! it was a total hit.  And I included a few pics of her 12 month checkup. She weighed 20lbs, 7.5oz and is 29 3/4 inches long.

Sweet Emily is ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Emily turned one on April 29th (Happy Anniversary William and Kate)! We had a wonderful Birthday celebration for our sweet girl's big O-ONE!  Family and a few friends came over for cake and ice cream to celebrate what has to be the best year EVER for Sean and I. We love our sweet baby girl so much and have enjoyed sharing her first year with you, our family and friends. Here a the pictures from the big day
