The 12 days of Christmas (outfits)

Emily Claire MacDermant is L-O-V-E-D (spoiled) when it comes to clothes. Yes, she is a first baby. Yes, she is a first Grandchild. Yes, she is SUPER cute (ok, so I am biased). The child had 12- (maybe 13) Christmas outfits and 17 if you count pjs. SERIOUSLY?!? I'm kidding right? NOPE I'm serious. Between her Nana, her Aunt Christy, her Gram and her Mama...18. Guess we didn't count as we were shopping.

So.....I am documenting the  12  13 Days of Christmas Outfits.  Without furthur ado.....

Uncle Peach

We got some really sad news right before Christmas. Our dear friend Dave DiPietro died suddenly, much too young.  We were all stunned and deeply saddened by his death. His family was kind enough to have the services here in Memphis so all of his friends and co workers could attend. He was a kind, sweet, funny man who made me and Sean both laugh more than anyone we've ever known. He was a good friend and he will leave a void in a lot of lives.  He gave Emily a sweet gift when she was born and we lovingly named it "peach" after Uncle Peach. I am so saddened that she will never get to know him. I am grateful that he got to meet her a time or two before he passed. We will miss him.

First Christmas

The MacDermants had the best Christmas EVER- now that sweet Emily Claire is in the world. We are so blessed to have such a sweet baby girl. We only wish all of her Grandparents could have been with us for this 'first'.

Christmas morning was a lazy one this year and I would bet the last one for many years to come. Em woke up at 7:30 for her breakfast, played in her room with Mama and Lily ( Christmas morning tea with Lily anyone)?? and then went back to bed around 9 for her morning nap. So her mama went back to bed too...and didn't wake up until almost 10:30!!!  don't know the last time that happened but it sure was nice. When I woke back up, Sean was up and had cooked the traditional MacDermant egg casserole.  Emily got her first taste as well (without the ham)...and she liked it. That girl likes to eat!

Nana came over and we opened gifts.  She really enjoyed pulling on the paper and beating on the boxes. For someone who had no idea what was going on...she seemed to have a lot of fun.  Santa brought her a Fisher Price activity table and a sweet pea baby doll.  She got an elephant chair (like the one in her monthly photos), a "peek a shoe" Octopus toy. some hot pink noise cancelling headphones (for football games maybe?), some books, a "paint brush", some blocks and a crawling toy turtle.

Uncle Marquis and Aunt Rachel and Jimmy came to visit after lunch wearing funny and festive headgear.  I enjoyed watching Emily with them - especially chillin with Uncle Marquis. It's so sweet to see your child enjoying other people.

Scott and Lauren and Charlotte and Bailey came over for Christmas dinner.  We enjoyed our recent family tradition of Spaghetti and meatballs- compliments of Chef Sean. YUMMY!  They are my favorite and I am so glad he is willing to make them for me once or twice a year.  I also love that we've made it a Christmas dinner tradition. Emily had her first meatball and it was a hit.  She was like the main event. Everyone came in the dining room to watch Em eat her dinner! ha!  Then everyone helped her play with her new toys and then it was bedtime.  A great first Christmas for our little girl.  Thank you all who shared in it. Those who couldn't be here with us- you were missed.
