Emily is having a.....

BABY BROTHER!  We had our ultrasound - as many of you know on the 14th and found out that everything looks good and as it should and that we are having a baby boy this October. I have to admit that I was surprised. I just knew it was another baby girl to wear all of those clothes we have...but God knows what he is doing and we are THRILLED to be planning for a baby boy this time around!

NO name yet- give us time, we just switched gears on the gender people!!

And as you know, I wanted Emily to be a part of things- so she got to tell most people with cell phones in our little text reveal.  Here she is with her sign- and here HE is- his first appearance but certainly not last on  the blog!!

hold what? where?

first pool (outside)

I took Emily swimming back in March to the hotel pool with Camille when they were here visiting.  We went to visit Nana's pool this week outside for the first time- it was still kinda chilly but Emily loves the water so it was fine. Her float didn't cooperate, but we managed for a first outing.

getting used to it

she wanted the ball we were playing with

what is this thing on my head mama?

I'ts kinda bright out- I need your shades mama

blocks

Davis Cate gave Emily blocks for her Birthday- we are starting to get into them a little more lately. Some playing...some tasting!  Taking them out of the box is a favorite pastime- putting them back in...not so much yet!

Em and Lily

Emily is getting much more curious about Lily and much more willing to seek her out and investigate her. Lily is still BEYOND sweet and tolerant and gets a hand or face lick in every once in a while as a result of Emily going over to say hello more often. this was a recent morning with the two of them.

NOSE!

EAR!

good Lily

pat pat Lily

Lily thinks something on that hand smells good...

Italian Festival

Sean's favorite festival of the year is Italian Festival held by the Holy Rosary Church and School and for the last 6 years we have been on a team. Last year, it was super hot (from what I'm told) and Emily was a mere few weeks old.  This year- we got to take her to her- another first for our girl!  She loves Luigi (the little Italian guy mascot) as she sees his image daily on our den wall of festival posters. I was excited to take her and see what she thought of the whole thing. We ended up having glorious weather and taking Emily both Friday and Saturday for a bit. I think you will see she had a great time, and so did her parents!

Emily actually figured out how to push the button on my phone to take a picture of herself! WOW. I'm scared of what she will figure out next. (although when she tried it again, it didn't work out so well).  And a few pics of her favorite game these days - takey-outie ANYTHING. ANYWHERE. ANYTIME.  UGH! I'm trying to teach her put-ey in-e!!

Gram

It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I write this post. Sean's mother, Emily's "Gram" passed away on May 22 after a short but determined illness. I did not know Barbara for that many years, but she touched my life in more ways than I can put into words. Her love for her family- especially her sons, and her beloved Grandchild- our sweet Emily was a love that was beyond measure. I am so blessed and honored to have known her for the brief years that I did and I loved her very much. We miss her very much and will honor her by teaching Emily and her sibling about her and sharing stories and memories.

Emily and Nana and I joined Sean in Beaufort for the funeral.  In spite of the sadness- Emily sure can make you smile. I have a few fun/sweet pictures I wanted to share from our trip. We also took Emily to see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. She LOVED it!  I am so pleased our little girl is so taken with the water.
