Happy Half Birthday Emily!!!

Emily Claire MacDermant - 6months old - October 29, 2011
Weight: 14.5 pounds (26th percentile) length: 26 inches (68th percentile)

I can't believe our precious baby girl has been in our lives for 6 months!
It has been an amazing, wild, sleep deprived ride.
We love her more and more everyday- if that is possible!
Here is what she's up to at her half year mark:
  • she can sit up all by herself- obviously she still falls over but really does well overall
  • she still LOVES her feet!
  • She is starting to fill out a bit more in her middle and her legs
  • she is all about grabbing and pulling things- especially glasses, noses and hair (ouch)
  • she (thankfully) has not gotten separation anxeity yet- she will still go to almost anyone who wants her
  • she rolls from her back to her tummy at will
  • she sleeps either on her back or  sometimes we find her on her tummy or one side
  • she still sleeps pretty much through the night 7pm-6am
  • she still sleeps with lovie - over her face (at least that is how she goes to sleep)
  • when she wakes up she is all smiles and has been grabbing her lovie and pulls it up over her face and back down again like a peek a boo- TOO CUTE!
  • she LOVES food-  we've been feeding her cereal and stage 1 foods for a couple of months. Dr. Miller gave us the go ahead to eat stage 2 foods now. I think she wants her to gain some weight.  She loves to eat and will grunt and open her mouth when she wants another bite - which is pretty much instantly after you put one in. she gets mad if you don't feed her fast enough!!  demanding little thing! She has been eating  prunes, green beans (her favorite- like her mama), sweet potatoes, carrots, peaches and apples, avacodos, and bananas.
  • Sean and I made her some homemade food - sweet potatos and broccoli and carrots. I think we will keep mixing up buying and making her food while we introduce new things to see what she likes.  Right now that seems to be anything you give her!
  • Squash is the only food she doesn't really like.  it comes back out of her mouth every time! ha!

it's MY Birthday?  Yay me!!!

more interested in eating her sign than looking at me

mmmmmm paper

paper doesn't taste as good as I thought it would

Hey! why did you feed me paper?

I'm all better now- CHEESE!
